Amina – Journey Sisters

Dundee City

Amina Muslim Women’s Resource Centre runs a project in Dundee called Journey Sisters. The programme supports Muslim and Minority Ethnic (ME) women in Dundee, co-designing activities to boost confidence and wellbeing. It enables women to access and participate in sustainable travel activities by providing materials, leadership, tuition and information with culturally appropriate venues and teachers.

They run a weekly walking group which offers the opportunity for women to gain some regular exercise while building social connections and friendships. They incorporate strength and balance exercises into their walks and always finish with tea, coffee and refreshments.

This year members of the group and Amina staff took part in the Dundee Kiltwalk, both the Wee Wander (4 miles) and The Mighty Stride (20 miles).

Tactran are delighted to be supporting this amazing project with continued funding through People & Place in 2026/27.
